“Imagination is more important than knowledge. Knowledge is limited. Imagination encircles the world.”-Albert Einstein
While we can’t all afford fancy jet rides or cruises, what we all are blessed with is the imagination. We all need a little bit of imagination to survive each day, especially with the amount of stress that is become all too common in our lives.
This month, we’re paying homage to some of the greatest authors who were masters of imagination, who taught us the power and wonder of imagination through their celebrated works. We’re talking about C.S. Lewis, J.R.R. Tolkien, and Terry Pratchett.
Meet our July Fragrance of The Month 3 Wick and Shot Glass Scented Candles -All Shall Be Done, Not All Those Who Wander Are Lost, and So Much Universe and So Little Time.
1.All Shall Be Done gives out a fragrance that feels piney, leathery, and rich, almost luxurious. It is akin to what you pick up on when you enter high-end boutiques displaying rows of handcrafted leather goods. With the A.C. on. The fragrance does a good job of transporting you to wintertime. You know, kind of like the winter wonderland that we recognize as Narnia? Yes, this fragrance is inspired by the famous works of C.S. Lewis- notably ‘The Chronicles of Narnia’. The books capture our imagination with the vast beauty of the land that is open just beyond a wardrobe. Through the Pevensie children, we learn about the importance of hope. About trusting in something greater than ourselves.

2.Not All Those Who Wander Are Lost is any nature lover’s treat with its bergamot, violet leaf, cardamom notes. R.R. Tolkien was a huge nature-lover and leaned towards life in the rural countryside, which is exactly how the backdrop to his famous Lord of The Rings saga is depicted. You can just smell the wild woods and forests like those in the Shire with this fragrance. The LOTR saga is, of course, a lot more than just a fantasy series. Through it we learn about the Ring which promises immortality and great power to all those who bear it. The series deals with the journey to self-discovery and the discovery that it is Friendship that emerges the most powerful and desirable in the end.

3.So Much Universe and So Little Time has citrusy, floral, and green notes that make you feel alive and help you imagine what life in the Discworld must feel like. Terry Pratchett’s Discworld is bizarre, hilarious, and eye-opening all at the same time. Did you realize that as strange as the plots and characters are, they are holding up a satirical mirror to our own society and governments? What makes the works stand out most is that they feature characters who are so easy to relate to, who get to go on these crazy adventures, dealing with all kinds of mischief and harm, yet managing to come out unscathed? They help us understand that the world doesn’t always have to make sense for us to appreciate it. The very fact this this work of fantasy is so outlandish is what makes it so appealing!
